'That which is against nature'
'For the invisible things
of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being
understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power
and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: because that,
when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither
were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and
their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be
wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the
uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man,
and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the
lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies
between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie,
and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator,
who is blessed for ever. Amen.
For this cause God gave
them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change
the natural use into that which is against nature: And
likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman,
burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working
that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that
recompence of their error which was meet. And even as they did
not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over
to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not
convenient;'
(Epistle to the Romans. 1:20-28.)
In its wisdom, by hurling yet more petrol on the national
fire of depravity and immorality, the UK government has recently
consulted on whether to educate 7
year old children about anal sexual intercourse. It is
reportedly a practice widely
prevalent in the Muslim world, given the common
understanding of the 'prophet's' saying in Q
2.223, however much
the apologists protest. It is also been particularly
common though covert in
Africa, though the incidence in the West has risen dramatically
recently.
A brief review of some of the medical dangers of the practice is
therefore in order.

The fragile
lining of the
rectum.
The robust lining of
the vagina.
1. It greatly increases
the risk of anal cancer - the incidence of which has risen
considerably recently.
'88%
of
all cancer samples contained human papilloma virus' -
indicating that nearly 90% of anal cancer sufferers had
engaged in passive anal intercourse. In non-heterosexuals the
rate was 97%. Other evidence of increased anal cancer risk
from receptive anal intercourse in men and in women (N Engl J
Med. 1997; 337: 1350-1358, N Engl J Med. 1987; 317: 973-977, J
Natl Cancer Inst. 2001; 93: 843-849).
2. It considerably increases the risk of transmitting
sexually transmitted diseases.
amoebiasis;
chlamydia;
cryptosporidiosis;
E.
coli infections; giardiasis; gonorrhea; hepatitis A; hepatitis B; hepatitis C; herpes simplex; human papillomavirus; Kaposi's
sarcoma-associated herpesvirus (HHV-8);
lymphogranuloma venereum; pubic lice; salmonellosis; shigella; syphilis; tuberculosis
Even Durex' own website claimed in October 2000: “Anal
intercourse is a high-risk activity because of the potential for
infection from STDs including HIV transmission. Currently, there
are no specific standards for the manufacture of condoms for anal
sex. Current medical advice is therefore to avoid anal sex.
However, whenever this advice is not followed, the medical
profession recommends that stronger condoms should be used
although studies have shown that there is still a risk of breakage
and slippage”. In the interests of political 'correctness' (or
rather perversity) Durex seem to have since erased these comments
viewed on 26/4/01 on
this now defunct link.
3. It increases the risk of transmitting blood borne viruses -
the risk for passing on HIV is 'much
higher'.
“Anal intercourse, penile or otherwise, traumatizes
the soft tissues of the rectal lining. These tissues... are
nowhere near as sturdy as vaginal tissue. As a consequence, the
lining of the rectum is almost always traumatized to some degree
by any act of anal intercourse. Even in the absence of major
trauma, minor or microscopic tears in the rectal lining allow
for immediate contamination and the entry of germs into the
bloodstream.” Dr Jeffrey Satinover.
Although under political pressure from gay rights activists,
the BTS on medical grounds alone had till September 2011 refused
all homosexual donors (a negative HIV test doesn't exclude
early HIV infection).
4. It (or allied sexual perversions) may cause anal
fissures
and sometimes damage to the anal sphincter leading
to
incontinence.
“The shape of the bowel is not intended for the purpose of
sexual intercourse. The muscle of the anal sphincter has to be
forced open. The lining of the bowel is a single cell layer. As
a result there is trauma and tearing. The semen action damages
the bowel lining and the consequence is easy entrance of
bacteria and viruses.”
Dr M E Duncan, MD(Hons), FRCSE, FRCOG
Dr
Jeffrey
Satinover says: “anal intercourse, penile or otherwise,
traumatizes the soft tissues of the rectal lining. These
tissues... are nowhere near as sturdy as vaginal tissue. As a
consequence, the lining of the rectum is almost always
traumatized to some degree by any act of anal intercourse.
Even in the absence of major trauma, minor or microscopic
tears in the rectal lining allow for immediate contamination
and the entry of germs into the bloodstream.”
5. It causes anal warts, a
major contributor to cancer.
6. There is some published evidence
that communities that practise anal intercourse have much
shorter actuarial survival than smokers and other high risk
groups, like IVDUs. These findings have been hotly contested and
the authors censured fiercely. Apart from the torrent of
ad hominems, methodological criticisms have been made, but not
to my knowledge in peer-reviewed journals. Nor am I aware of
well conducted research that contradicts these findings. It is
difficult to correct accurately for underreporting of AIDS, and
HIV patient survival rates have now dramatically improved with
HAART, which will affect these data. Even if the effect observed
is more accentuated than general experience, because of the
nature of subject selection (newspaper obituaries), it remains
most striking. Wiki's critique of the
study and its author is here,
it does not quote countervailing evidence from more rigorous
studies. The question addressed merits more detailed
investigation, and for educational and health
services to promote anal sex as a healthy alternative to vaginal
intercourse appears counterproductive and perversely
doctrinaire.

7. Claiming that homosexuality is a fixed and innate
orientation is deceitful, many thousands of people have found
liberty and cleansing from the worst kinds of sin through the
Lord Jesus Christ.
